〜ましょう means 'let's ...'. The speaker suggests doing something together with the listener and pulls the listener along. It is also the usual way to say yes to an invitation. At N5 the action is normally done by the speaker and the listener together; it is not used to state the speaker's own plan.
§1Structure
Verb ます-stem + ましょう: 行きます → 行きましょう, 食べます → 食べましょう, します → しましょう. Adding か makes 'Shall we ...?': 行きましょうか. It is often used to answer an invitation with 〜ませんか: ええ、〜ましょう. The plain form is the volitional form (行こう, 食べよう), which is studied at N4.

§3Common mistakes
- Making the form from the dictionary form or the ない-form stem: 食べるましょう and 行かましょう are wrong. Take off ます and add ましょう: 食べましょう, 行きましょう, しましょう.
- Using 〜ましょう for something the speaker will do alone, like English 'I will' or 'I shall': わたしはあした図書館で勉強しましょう is not natural as a statement of your own plan. For your own plan use ます: わたしはあした図書館で勉強します.
- Using 〜ましょう to invite someone when you do not know whether they want to come, especially a teacher or a person you have just met: 先生、一緒に昼ご飯を食べましょう can sound pushy, because it does not ask for the listener's wish. For a first invitation 〜ませんか is safer: 先生、一緒に昼ご飯を食べませんか.
§4How it's different from similar grammar
- 〜ませんか (Would you like to ...?)
- 〜ませんか asks about the listener's wish, so it is softer: 少し休みませんか (Would you like to rest a little?). 〜ましょう already assumes that the listener will join, so it fits when the plan is decided, when you lead a group, or when you accept: ええ、休みましょう (Yes, let's rest). A typical exchange uses both: A: 〜ませんか。 B: ええ、〜ましょう。
- 〜ましょうか (offer: Shall I ...?)
- 〜ましょう is done by the speaker and the listener together: 一緒に持ちましょう (Let's carry it together). 〜ましょうか is often an offer, where only the speaker does the action for the listener: 荷物を持ちましょうか (Shall I carry your bag?). 〜ましょうか can also mean 'Shall we ...?', as in 何時に会いましょうか, so check who will do the action.
§5How this shows up on the JLPT
In N5 grammar questions, 〜ましょう appears most often as the reply in a short dialogue: A: 一緒に〜ませんか。 B: ええ、__。 The wrong choices are usually other endings of the same verb (〜ました, 〜ません, 〜ています), so read the other speaker's line to see that an invitation is being accepted. In listening, questions about what the two people will do next are often decided by a line with 〜ましょう.
§6Quick check (3 questions)
1. Choose the word that fits the blank: A「疲れましたね。あの喫茶店で少し休みませんか。」 B「ええ、そう__。」
A「つかれましたね。あのきっさてんですこしやすみませんか。」 B「ええ、そう__。」
2. Which sentence has the correct form?
3. In which situation is 〜ましょう the best choice?
