You may receive a call that begins "This is the Telephone Relay Service." It is a call from a person who cannot hear, or has similar difficulties, with an interpreter operator in between: the caller uses sign language or text, the operator tells it to you by voice and relays your words back. Some people think it is a wrong number or a prank call and hang up, but please do not; just talk normally, even though replies may be slow. The person who receives the call pays nothing and needs no registration.
