Dementia is a state in which illness changes how the brain works and abilities such as memory get weaker. With age anyone may fail to recall the breakfast menu, but with dementia the person forgets having eaten at all; if several signs such as repeating the same thing, always searching for things or mixing up the day of an appointment appear, it may be the beginning of dementia, so do not worry alone but consult your usual doctor or a specialist, and there are also dementia cafes where anyone can seek advice casually.
