Verb た-form + り + Verb た-form + り + する

Lists a few example actions or states out of several possible ones, without implying a strict order. Often used to describe a varied or repeated set of activities.

Examples

• 週末は買い物したり、映画を見たりします。

  しゅうまつはかいものしたり、えいがをみたりします。

  On weekends, I do things like shopping and watching movies.

• 子供たちは公園で走ったり、笑ったりしていました。

  こどもたちはこうえんではしったり、わらったりしていました。

  The children were doing things like running around and laughing in the park.
